SUZANNE PLESHETTESigned typed letter sent to the mother of a fan Typed letter signed "Suzanne Pleshette". 1 page, 7¼x8½, on Pleshette's personal imprinted stationery. To "Mrs. Head". In full: "Enclosed find several 8x10s [not present], that you are welcome to use to generate some income! I have inscribed them with my signature so that it may have some additional value to collectors. David is indeed a very lucky young man to have such a terrific, caring Mother. The group shot, is from a now defunct summer series called Bridges to Cross. It may be a collectors item some day, as we spent more time assembling for the photo, than we spent on the air! The others in the photo are, Roddy McDowall,Eva Gabor,Jose Ferrer and Nicholas Surovy.. Hope this small collection helps in some way... fondly, Suzanne Pleshette". After some TV experience, Pleshette (1937-2008) made her film debut in Jerry Lewis' The Geisha Boy (1958), then went on to replace Ann Bancroft as star of Broadway's The Miracle Worker in 1961. She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show (1972-1978). Pleshette later starred in several short-lived TV series, including Maggie Briggs (1984), Bridges to Cross (1986), and The Boys Are Back (1994), and has also been a ubiquitous presence in such made-for-TV movies as Leona Helmsley: The Queen of Mean (1990). Anime fans may know her as the voices of the witches Yubaba and Zeniba from the English-dubbed release of Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away (2001). Fine condition.
