First Day Cover honoring Christmas of 1972 signed by the actress in black felt tip
First Day Cover signed: "Swoosie Kurtz", 6½x3½. FDC observing Christmas, 8-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Washington, D.C., November 9, 1972, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Kurtz (b. 1944), named Swoosie after her father's WWII aircraft, has won two Tony Awards (Fifth of July, 1981; House of Blue Leaves, 1986) and been nominated for two more (Tartuffe, 1978; Frozen, 2004). On television, she won an Emmy as Outstanding Guest Actress in 1990 (for Carol & Company) and gained nominations for five more. Kurtz, who began appearing in films in the 1970s, was seen in Cruel Intentions in 1999 and in the TV miniseries, Category 7: The End of the World, in 2005. She also had a co-starring role in the series, Sisters, from 1991-1996. Corners lightly worn. Slightly toned. Light surface creases. Fine condition.
