Autograph letter signed: "Sybil Kenyon-Slaney/Lady in Waiting", 2p, 4x6¼, affixed to sheet of similar size. Hartwood House, Leeds, November 1, 1929.To "Dear Lord Liverfoote". In full: "Princess Mary desires me to write to you and to say that Her Royal Highness will certainly tell the Queen of your letter written at sea & of its expressions of sympathy, which she knows will be very truly appreciated by Her Majesty. Believe me/Yrs very truly" Magazine photograph, b/w, 1½x1¾, of H.R.H. Princess Mary of England and printed caption affixed at lower margin of signature page. Sybil Kenyon-Slaney (1888-1970) was the daughter of Colonel Rt. Hon. William Slaney Kenyon-Slaney and Lady Mabel Selina Bridgeman. She held the office of Lady-in-Waiting to HRH The Princess Royal between 1923 and 1947. She was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1947 and was an Extra Lady-in-Waiting between 1948 and 1962. Christened Victoria Alexandra Alice Mary Windsor, Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood (1897-1965) was the daughter of Britain's King George V and Queen Mary of Teck and sister of Kings Edward VIII and George VI. She was named Princess Royal in 1932. Toned. Lightly creased and rippled. Slightly soiled. Mounting sheet, which is lightly rippled on signature side, has ink notes (unknown hand) at lower right margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
