Check signed "Sidney Pollack". 6x2¾ with perforated top edge. Nov. 3, 1976. Check no. 729, drawn on Pollack's account at the Beverly-wilshire Office of Bank of America in Beverly Hills, California and payable to Rodney Romoff for $32.50. Memo line is illegible. Director, producer, executive producer and actor Pollack (1934-2008) won the 1985 Academy Award for Best Director for Out of Africa and was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director in 1969 (They Shoot Horses, Don't They?) and 1982 (Tootsie, in which he also appeared). He also directed The Slender Thread (1965, his directorial debut), This Property is Condemned (1966), The Way We Were (1973), Three Days of The Condor (1975), The Electric Horseman (1979), Absence of Malice (1981), The Firm (1993), Sabrina (1995) and Random Hearts (1999) and the early TV series The Defenders, The Naked City, The Fugitive, Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey. Pollack was also the producer of The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) and Presumed Innocent (1990) and executive producer of Iris (2001) and The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). He appeared in Husbands and Wives (1992), Sense and Sensibility (1995) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999) and guested on the TV series The Twilight Zone (1960), Frasier (1994) and Mad About You (1998) as well as early TV dramas. Normal bank stamps; show-through touches signature and handwriting. Normal cancellation holes, which touch handwriting but not signature. Otherwise in fine condition.
