SYLVESTER STALLONE The actor signed this black and white photograph from his iconic boxing film Rocky Printed Photograph inscribed and signed in ink: "To/ Kathryn/ Love/ Sly Stallone". B/w, 10x8. Depicted as Rocky Balboa in a scene from Rocky. Publicity photo, captioned at lower margin. ©1976, United Artists Corp. Sylvester Stallone (b. 1946) made his film debut in 1969, eventually becoming one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. His first big break was in 1970's No Place to Hide, which was re-edited as Rebel years later to take advantage of Stallone's new-found fame. In 1974, he appeared alongside Henry Winkler and Perry King in The Lords of Flatbush. Stallone wrote and starred in the iconic boxing film Rocky (1978), which won three Oscars and spawned numerous sequels. Incredibly, "Sly" wrote the rough script in just three days! In 1982, he debuted his character Rambo in First Blood (1982), a violent film featuring a Vietnam War veteran that also led to several sequels. These action film franchises have defined his career and he has embraced this typecast, starring in other action movies like Judge Dredd (1995) and Demolition Man (1993). In 2010, Stallone debuted another film franchise with The Expendables. The titular group of mercenaries is portrayed by a group of some of the most recognizable action film stars ever, including Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Dolph Lundgren. Fine condition.
