SYLVIA MILES. Photograph signed: "All the Best/Sylvia Miles". B/w, 10x8 overall, image 9x6¾ (one surface). Publicity still for the 1981 horror film, The Funhouse. ©1981, Universal City Studios, Inc. Captioned at lower margin: "Things would be much better if only Madame Zena (SYLVIA MILES) could really see what lies ahead for Amy (ELIZABETH BERRIDGE) that night." This film, the story of teens trapped in a carnival funhouse with a freakish monster, is said to be less frightening than its tie-in novel, written by Dean R. Koontz under the penname of "Owen West". Sylvia Miles was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award in 1970 (Cass in Midnight Cowboy) and in 1976 (Mrs. Florian in Farewell, My Lovely). Miles, who made her TV debut as a comedy revue performer in 1950 on a Bob Hope TV show, debuted in feature films ten years later. Her other film credits include Parrish (1961), Heat (1972), The Sentinel (1977), Wall Street (1987) and Crossing Delancey (1988). Creased at blank margins, touching caption. Surface creases (most not evident head on). Black mark at upper left corner. Overall, fine condition.
