On letterhead of Vanderbilt University Center for Microgravity Research and Applications to Peter McGrath, Waterford, Ireland. Taylor Wang (b. 1940), a China-born U.S. citizen, was a payload specialist on the STS-51 mission of Space Shuttle Challenger (April 29-May 6, 1985). Working at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Cal Tech, he invented an acoustic levitation and manipulation chamber, which he then used to perform drop dynamics experiments in space. His shuttle mission was the first to make operational use of the orbital Spacelab, designed by the European Space Agency. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
