In full: "I appreciate your interest in inquiring about gramaphone (sic) records. I have not made any up to date am going to make some this week for Decca and, fortunately 'Love Walked In' is to be one of them. They should be on the market in the very near future. Thank you for the compliments contained in your letter. It is always cheering to know that our efforts are pleasing. Sincerely." Address of correspondent typed on verso. Baker had performed "Love Walked In" in the 1938 film, The Goldwyn Follies. American singer and actor Kenneth Laurence "Kenny" Baker (1912-1985) first gained notice as a tenor on Jack Benny's radio program. Baker, who was replaced by Dennis Day when he left the show in 1939, later became a featured performer on Fred Allen's radio show, Texaco Star Theater (1940-1942). He also appeared in a number of feature films from 1934-1947, including College Rhythm (1934), At the Circus (1939), The Harvey Girls (1946) and Calendar Girl (1947). Additionally, Baker and Mary Martin co-starred in the original Broadway production of One Touch of Venus. Lightly soiled, smudged at upper blank margin above type. Overall, fine condition.
