Reached Via Union Pacific System" on front, 1-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Omaha [remainder of place illegible], 1929 August 8. To Jimmy Starr, c/o Warners Studio, Hollywood, Cal. In the year he wrote this note, Lewis appeared in two films, The Show of Shows and Is Everybody Happy? Bandleader Ted Lewis (1890-1971) maintained an active recording, radio, movie, television and concert career for 50 years (1917-1967). His hit songs included "Some Of These Days" and his trademark "When My Baby Smiles At Me". The recipient of this letter is likely James A.
