Baseball signed: "Ted Williams", "Harmon Killebrew"and"Eddie Mathews". Rawlings Official American League baseball,
Bobby Brown, Pres. WILLIAMS (1918-2002), the last player to hit .400
(.406 in 1941), won two Triple Crowns, two MVP awards and six American League
batting championships, hit 521 home runs, had a lifetime average of .344 and
appeared in 18 All-Star games. KILLEBREW (1936-2011) played 21 seasons
for the Minnesota Twins (1954-1974) before playing a final year in 1975 for the
Kansas City Royals. He was the American League's Most Valuable Player in
1969; led the league in home runs in 1959, 1962-1964, 1967 and 1969, finishing
with 573 for his career. He led the league in RBIs in 1962, 1969 and 1971
and was an all-star in 1959, 1961, and 1963-1971. In 1953, MATHEWS
(1931-2001), the future member of the 500 HR Club, hit 47 homers for the
Milwaukee Braves, establishing a single-season record for third basemen
(since broken by Mike Schmidt) as he won the National League home run title.
All three are members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Fine
