Williams". Williams has signed on a photograph of himself. Hall of Famer Ted
Williams (1918-2002) was born Theodore Samuel William in San Diego,
California. He played outfield for the Boston Red Sox from 1939-1960, taking off
time to fight in World War II and Korea. Combining keen vision with quick wrists
and a scientific approach to hitting, he was the last to hit over .400 (.406
in 1941), leading the American League in hitting six times. His lifetime batting
average is .344 with 521 home runs. The Splendid Splinter's accomplishments
include two Triple Crowns, two MVPs, six American League batting championships
and 18 All-Star Game selections. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in
1966. Fine condition.
