Autograph Sentiment signed: "With appreciation -/Temple Bailey/February - 1934", 3x2¼
card. Irene Temple Bailey (ca. 1869-1953) wrote 15 novels, three of which became best
sellers: The Tin Soldier (1918), Dim Lantern (1922) and The Blue Window (1926). Her
short stories were published in most of the leading magazines, including both women's
magazines like McCall's, but also general readership publications like the Saturday Evening
Post. She wrote the screenplay for the silent film Auntie (1914). Her sentimental poem "A
Mother's Walk" was very popular and is still often reprinted. Pencil note (unknown hand) on
verso. Otherwise fine condition.
