TERI GARR
A fragment of Garr's hair bound in cranberry yarn
Lock of hair, bound in cranberry colored yarn, 4x2¾ sheet encased in
plastic. Film and TV actress Teri Garr (b. 1947) found early visibility
with a mixture of dramatic and comic roles before maturing, so to speak, into
her persona as a smart comedienne typecast as an eccentric ditz. Her
first major film role was The Conversation, followed by Mel Brooks'
Young Frankenstein (both in 1974). From there, she began playing mothers
and wives in high-profile films: Close Encounters of the Third Kind
(1977), Oh, God! (1977) and The Black Stallion (1979). It wasn't
until Tootsie (1981), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award
for Best Supporting Actress, that Garr received full recognition for her
comedic talents and began to be identified for her knack for playing charmingly
sweet airheads. Plastic lightly creased, pinhead stain at lower right edge.
Stapled at upper, lower and right edges. Fine condition.
