In all 31 signatures. Louisville Slugger "Wade Boggs" model Grand Slam bat, signed on the barrel. The 1961 New York Yankees, under first-year manager Ralph Houk, were one of the greatest baseball teams of all time, cruising to their the second of five consecutive American League pennants with a record of 109-53, and then defeating the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 in the World Series. Major League rosters are limited to 25 players during most of the season, so this ball must have been signed either during Spring Training, or during the month of September, when rosters are expanded to 40 players. Most signers, here, however, were season-long veterans, including the full pitching staff. Chipped at top of bat. Otherwise, fine condition.
