THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN: PETER CUSHING and FORREST TUCKER
Peter Cushing and Forrest Tucker sign a black and white publicity still from their movie The Abominable Snowman.
Photograph signed: "May God's blessing be with/you always/In all Sincerity/Peter Cushing", "Cheers!/Forrest/Tucker". B/w, 10x8. Still from the 1957 film. British stage actor Peter Cushing (1913-1994) also found international success in films, including several portrayals of Baron Frankenstein (beginning with The Curse of Frankenstein in 1957), and as Sherlock Holmes (beginning with The Hound of the Baskervilles in 1959). He also played the banally evil Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars (1977). Though best known for his horror films, Cushing was said to be proudest of his classical stage performances. Forrest Tucker (1919-1986), who made his film debut in The Westerner (1940), starred in a number of feature films, including My Sister Eileen (1942), The Yearling (1946), Sands of Iwo Jima (1949), The Quiet Gun (1957), Auntie Mame (1958) and The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968). Tucker is best known to TV viewers as crafty Sergeant O'Rourke on F Troop (1965-1966). He also starred in Dusty's Trail (1973) and Ghost Busters (1975) and appeared in made-for-TV movies and several series, including Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie. Light image. Otherwise, fine condition.
