Based on the Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons, The Addams Family was a black and white 30 minute television series which ran from September 18, 1964 until April 8, 1966. Actor/director John Astin (born in 1930) was nominated for a 1968 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short for Prelude. Astin, who made his film debut in West Side Story (1961) and appeared in a number of feature films, made-for-television movies and TV series, is best known for his role as family patriarch Gomez Addams on The Addams Family (1964-1966). He reprised his role in the 1979 television film, Halloween With the Addams Family, and lent his voice to the Saturday morning cartoon version of his TV series. Astin was married to actress Patty Duke from 1972-1985. Stuntman turned actor Felix Silla, born in Italy in 1927, began his career as a circus performer before debuting as a stuntman in A Ticklish Affair (1963). The 3-foot, 11-inch Silla, who frequently doubled for children, performed stunts in a number of films, including Earthquake and The Towering Inferno (both 1974), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Batman Returns (1992), and he has appeared in several feature films, including Planet of the Apes (1968), The Black Bird (1975), Kentucky Fried Movie (1977), Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), Spaceballs (1987) and Batman Returns. Silla is best known, however, for his role as Cousin Itt on the TV series, The Addams Family (1964-1966). Although the character was not a part of the original Charles Addams cartoons, upon which the series was based, Cousin Itt was so popular that he was featured in the animated version of series as well as the 1977 made-for-TV movie, Halloween with the New Addams Family, in which Silla reprised the role. He also had a recurring role as Twiki in the TV series, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979-1981). Silla and his group, The Original Harmonica Band, also perform at nightclubs in Reno and Las Vegas. Fine condition.
