Actor RICHARD "CHITO" MARTIN (1917-1994) was a prominent RKO studio actor, most known as his fabled Irish-Mexican sidekick character "Chito Rafferty." Beginning as a receptionist at MGM, Martin signed with RKO studios in 1942 and went on to appear in over 60 films with the company. He developed the character "Chito" for the 1943 film Bombadier; however, the character turned out to be the perfect toady to Tim Holt who was also signed to RKO. Holt and Martin paired as a duo and filmed 29 movies together, including Hot Lead (1951), Wanderer of the Wasteland (1945) and Wild Horse Mesa (1947). FRANCES RAFFERTY (1922-2004) was a World War II pin-up girl and actress, the daughter of politician Max Rafferty. Appearing in a number of MGM B Films of the 1940's, she never landed many leading roles, but did receive top billing in the film Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in Hollywood and The Adventures of Don Coyote (1947). It was her career on television that brought her more attention, with a starring role beside actress Spring Byington in the sitcom December Bride (1954), appearing in all but one episode.
