RIN TIN TIN TV CAST: JAMES "RIP" BROWN and LEE AAKER
Both actors are shown with Rin Tin Tin in a still from the show.
Photograph signed: "James Brown/(Rip)", "Lee Aaker/Rusty". B/w, 8x10. Shown with Rin Tin Tin in a still from the TV series The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin. The original Rin Tin Tin was a shell-shocked puppy in the trenches in World War I, brought back to the US by a soldier. By the early 1920s, he was starring in silent films. The original Rinty died in 1932, but his offspring inspired more feature films and three radio series (1930-1955). The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin was carried on ABC-TV from 1954 to 1959, starring the main actors from the last radio show. These included Rin Tin Tin IV, James “Rip” Brown (1920-1992) as US Cavalry Lieutenant Masters, and Lee Aaker as Rusty, a boy orphaned in an Indian raid and adopted by the cavalry. Brown, who had appeared earlier in adventure films like Objective: Burma, guest starred on many TV series, including The Adventures of Superman, The Lone Ranger, Sky King and several Westerns. After a few other children's roles, including appearances with Gene Barry in Atomic City and Barbara Stanwyck in Jeopardy, Aaker left acting. At last report he was a special needs ski instructor. The Rin Tin Tin line of German shepherds, now in the tenth generation, continues to make personal appearance and to work as service dogs with special needs children. Fine condition.  Framed to an overall size of 17x24.
