The Allman Brothers Band was founded in 1969 by Duane Allman (1946-1971, dying in a motorcycle crash) on guitar, Gregg Allman (1947-2017) on vocals and organ, Dickey Betts on guitar, Berry Oakley (1948-1972) on bass and Butch Trucks and Jai "Jaimoe" Johanny Johanson on drums. In 1989, Warren Haynes joined the band on lead guitar. In 1992, Marc Quinones (percussion) joined what was now a quintet. The Allman Brothers are a Southern Rock band, but blend blues, jazz and country influences. Although their original heyday was in the early 1970s, with their breakout album Live at the Fillmore East and their biggest hit, "Ramblin' Man." However, the band, entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and scored a Grammy with "Jessica" in 1996. Haynes and Betts, along with the late Duane Allman, were named to a list of the 100 greatest rock guitarists in 2003. Bill Graham (1931-1991) ran the famed New York concert venue, the Fillmore East. The Allman Brothers Band played there so often they were jokingly called "Bill Graham's house band." Fine condition.
