GREGG ALLMAN (ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND) Color publicity photograph of Gregg Allman wearing a black shirt with his arms crossed. Photograph signed: "Gregg Allman'". Color, 8x10. Gregg Allman (1947-2017) and brother Duane (1946-1971) were founding members of the Allman Brothers Band in 1969. Gregg was lead singer, organist and songwriter for the group, whose blend of blues, country and other musical genres came to be called "southern rock." Extremely popular in the 1970s, the group broke up and reformed more than once, continuing into the new century. Greg Allman, whose drug problems and brief marriage to singer/actress Cher were grist for the tabloids, has also enjoyed success as a solo artist. (As the title of his debut solo album Laid Back implied, his individual efforts were mellower than the hard-jamming Allman Brothers Band.) Fine condition.
