THE ANIMALS: ERIC BURDON and HILTON VALENTINE
The musicians who grew famous as members of The Animals signed this
advertisement for the Eric Burdon Band's album Stop
Magazine Photograph signed: "Eric Burdon" and "Hilton Valentine". Color,
8½x10¾. Eric Burdon (b. 1941) and Hilton Valentine (1943-2021) were both
members of The Animals, a British Invasion rock band that recorded such hits
as "House of the Rising Sun", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "We've
Gotta Get Out Of This Place". Burdon was vocalist and Hilton Valentine was
guitarist. Eric Burdon moved on to several other projects after the first
incarnation of the band broke up in 1966. One of these projects was the Eric
Burdon Band, which released Stop in 1975. Burdon has released dozens of
albums since his career began with the Animals in 1963. Valentine continues to
release albums based on his skiffle roots, including Skiffledog on Coburg
Street in 2011. Left edge ragged from previous binding. Toned and lightly
creased. Multiple rips on right edge. Corners creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
