Guitarist John Lennon (1943-1980) shared principal songwriting duties with Paul
McCartney as a member of The Beatles. Lennon performed as lead vocalist on a number of
the band's biggest hits, including "Help!" (1965), and "Strawberry Fields Forever" (1966), and
"Come Together" (1969). After the Beatles broke up, Lennon performed as a solo artist
and, later, with his wife Yoko Ono. He was tragically murdered by Mark David Chapman
on December 8, 1980, just weeks after the couple released their album Double Fantasy.
The Beatles will go down in history as one of the greatest and most
influential bands of all time. Before they broke up in 1970, the band released
some of the greatest albums of all time, including three albums certified
Diamond (at least 10x Platinum) by the RIAA: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
Band (1967), The Beatles (also known as The White Album, released in 1968),
and Abbey Road (1969). Lightly toned.Plastic lining on cover is rippled. Top right edge is
lightly rounded and worn. Some pages near front are beginning to separate from binding.
