THE BLUE VEIL MOVIE CAST: JANE WYMAN and RICHARD CARLSON The two co-stars sign this still from the 1951 film The Blue Veil Printed Photograph signed in Ink: “Best Wishes/ Jane Wyman” in green ink and “Richard Carlson” in blue ink, b/w, 10x8. Actress JANE WYMAN (1917-2007) was married to future U.S. President Ronald Reagan from 1940 to 1948. Emerging as a major film star with The Lost Weekend (1945), she won the Oscar for Best Actress in Johnny Belinda (1948), and was nominated for the same award for The Yearling (1946), The Blue Veil (1951), and The Magnificent Obsession (1954).  She hosted a twice Emmy-nominated dramatic anthology on TV, The Jane Wyman Show (1955-1958), and returned to the small screen as the ruthless Angela Channing in the series Falcon Crest (1981-1990). RICHARD CARLSON (1912-1977) was a familiar face to television viewers of the 1950s and 1960s. He had frequent roles on TV on many Westerns such as Bonanza (1959-1973), Rawhide (1959-1965), and The Virginian (1962-1971). Carlson also starred as Herbert A. Philbrick, a real-life Boston ad executive who joined the American Communist Party while serving as an undercover FBI agent, in the popular TV series I Led Three Lives (1953-1956). He worked off camera, as well, writing and directing for TV and film and as a Broadway actor and playwright. Carlson also showed up in a number of B-movies in the 1950s and 1960s; Mystery Science Theatre 3000 fans may recognize him from 1960's Tormented. Bottom edge damaged toward left-hand corner. Corners and edges worn. Date stamped on verso: “7 Nov 23 51”. Otherwise, fine condition.
