The Boston Braves (1871-1952), which became the Milwaukee Braves for 13 years before becoming today's Atlanta Braves, is the longest continuously active team in baseball history. In 1948, the cry of "Spahn and Sain and two days of rain" was first heard, as WARREN SPAHN and JOHNNY SAIN won 39 games to help the team win the National League pennant.
