Charlie Daniels (b. 1936) is the lead guitarist, vocalist, and fiddle player for the Charlie Daniels Band. The group was formed using the Southern rock of the Allman Brothers as a blueprint. They won the 1979 Grammy Award for Country Duo/Group w/ Vocal for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Their only #1 country hit album was 1979's Million Mile Reflections. Daniels also released several Gospel and Christian records. In 2003, Daniels published an Open Letter to the Hollywood Bunch in defense of President George W. Bush's Iraq policy. His 2003 book Ain't No Rag: Freedom, Family, and the Flag contains this letter as well as many other personal statements. Joe "Taz" DiGregorio (1944-2011) was a longtime member and keyboardist for the Charlie Daniels Band. His first band, the group Paul Chaplain and his Emeralds, best known for their minor hit "Shortnin' Bread" (1960). They sold about 250,000 copies of their album in 1959. In addition to his work with Daniels, he recorded the solo projects Midnight in Savannah (2008) and Shake Rag (2008). Bassist Charlie Hayward has been with the Charlie Daniel's band since 1975. Before that he played bass with Alex Taylor. Drummer Jim Marshall merits further research. Fine condition.
