TOM HARDY (b. 1977) is an English stage and screen actor. Hardy made his feature film debut in the war film Black Hawk Down in 2001. His other notable appearances include the crime film RocknRolla (2008), the science fiction thriller Inception (2010), the Cold War espionage film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011). Most recently he has portrayed the villain Bane in the superhero film The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and "Mad" Max Rockatansky in the post-apocalyptic film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). Since then, Hathaway has starred in dramatic films such as Brokeback Mountain in 2005, The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Becoming Jane (2007), The Dark Knight Rises and Les Misérables (both 2012). She has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Critics Choice Award for a single role, as Fantine in Les Miserables. elsh-born actor CHRISTIAN BALE (b. 1974) made an impressive film debut as the youthful star of Empire of the Sun (1986). Other youthful roles followed, including parts in Kenneth Branagh's Henry V (1989), and in the Disney musical Newsies in 1992. Unlike many child stars, Bale transitioned smoothly to adult roles in films like American Psycho (2000) the psychological thriller The Machinist (2004). He took over the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins (2005) and subsequently The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). In the 2010 film The Fighter, Bale received critical acclaim and won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
