Inscribed printed photograph signed in ink: "To Lewis-/Sincerely-/The Deep/Harry" and, "Edward" "Cam", "Vernon" and, "Carter" . B/w, 3½x5½ photo attached to 5¼x6¼ sheet (2 surfaces). Captioned in lower margin. The Deep River Boys were an American gospel music group who were popular from the 1930s through the 1980s. With members Harry Douglas, Carter Wilson, Edward Ware, Vernon Gardner and Cam Williams (pianist), the Deep River Boys performed gained their earliest successes on European tours. They are known for their hits "September Song", "Lucky Black Cat" and "Smack Dab in the Middle." They also performed classic renditions of "Recess in Heaven" and "The Stars are the Windows of Heaven." The Deep River Boys also toured with Count Basie, Fats Waller, Charlie Christian and Thelma Carpenter. 3½x5½ photo attached to 5¼x6¼ sheet (2 surfaces). Top corners of affixed sheet soiled. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
