Official Reach American League baseball, Joseph E. Cronin, President. Ball contains a total of
27 signatures. The 1969 season was an interesting one for Major League baseball; it
marked the first year of both the American League West and the National League West
divisions. Several expansion teams were added: the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos
(currently the Washington Nationals) in the NL West and the Kansas City Royals and the
Seattle Pilots (currently the Milwaukee Brewers) in the AL West. The Tigers finished in
second place in the AL East with a respectable record of 90-12, but they were no match for
the Baltimore Orioles, who finished a full 19 games ahead of the Tigers. Haloeing and
bleeding of several signature, which nonetheless remain legible. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine
condition.
