THE DINNING SISTERS: GINGER, LOU, and JEAN DINNINGThe famous singing trio who competed with The Andrews Sisters signed this piece of paper that features a sepia-toned photograph of the three of them Signatures: “Ginger”, “Lou”, and “Jean”. Noted at top by one of the sisters: “The Dinning Sisters”. 4¼x5. A 2x4 sepia-toned photograph of the three girls is on the right side of the piece of paper. The Dinning Sisters were formed in 1941 and signed two years later with Capitol Records, who needed a girl group to compete with The Andrews Sisters. The original three members were Lou (1920-2000), Jean (1924-2011), and Ginger (1924-2013) Dinning. Two of their songs made it to the Top 10: “My Adobe Hacienda” (1947) and “Buttons and Bows” (1948). As a group, they also appeared and sang in a few films. These screen credits include Fun & Fancy Free (1947), Throw a Saddle on a Star (1946), and Melody Time (1948). Toned.
