White Stratocaster pick guard signed by Randy Meisner, a founder of the Eagles
Pick guard signed "Randy Meisner/EAGLES". 10¾x8½. White plastic Fender Stratocaster pick guard. Meisner, born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 1946, is a pop bassist and vocalist who had the bad luck to bail out of two bands just as they were catching fire. He formed Pogo, later Poco, with Richie Furay and Jim Messina out of the remains of the Buffalo Springfield in 1968. Poco was a hot act with killer live performances, but Meisner left before the band could record a proper album. Later, he played with Linda Ronstadt's backing band, which included Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Bernie Leadon. They left Ronstadt in 1972 and became the Eagles, with Meisner's vocals and bass as the core of the band's sound. However, he became disenchanted with the Eagles and left in 1977, after the band released Hotel California, their biggest album. Meisner dedicated himself to solo work and working with other artists after the Eagles. He reunited with Poco in 1989 and briefly with the Eagles at the band's 1999 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lightly soiled and scratched. Signature is lightly chipped. Otherwise in fine condition.
