THE FONTANE SISTERS: GERI, MARGE and BEA ROSSE

Inscribed photograph signed: "Geri/Bea/Marge/To Marianne/good luck
always/the Fontane/Sisters", B/w, 5x7. In 1941 two of the ROSSE SISTERS,
BEA (1915-2002) and MARGE (1917-2003) joined their guitarist brother Frank
Rosse as The Ross Trio, performing in their native New Jersey. Frank was
killed in World War II, but Bea and Marge joined younger sister GERI ROSSE
(1919-1993) as THE FONTANE SISTERS. In 1948, the trio became regular backup
for Perry Como's radio show, and recorded with him. In 1949, their released
an album of their own, scored 18 Top 40 Hits over the next decade, including a
gold record, "Hearts of Stone" (1954). The sisters retired in 1961. In
2001, however, RCA Victor released a compilation album, Perry Como with the
Fontane Sisters. Corners and edges slightly worn. Lightly creased. Fine
condition.
