THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY PLAY CAST
Kate Reid and Lenny Baker sign their names on a Playbill for a production of The Freedom of the City
Show bill signed: "Kate Reid", "Lenny Baker", in black felt tip, 22 pages, 5½x9. A Playbill for a production of The Freedom of the City at the Alvin Theatre. LENNY BAKER (1945-1982) was an American stage, film, and screen actor. During his career, Baker appeared in over fifteen onscreen titles and four stage productions including The Hospital (1971), The Rubber Gun Squad (1977), and the television series Taxi (1979). In 1977, he received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Next Stop, Greenwich Village. That same year, Baker received a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, as well as a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical - both for his role in the 1977 original Broadway production of I Love My Wife. Unfortunately in 1982, at the age of thirty-seven, Lenny Baker passed away. KATE REID (1930-1993) played many strong women on the stage, including Lady Macbeth, Katharina in Taming of the Shrew and Martha in Whos' Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Her film roles included Dr. Ruth Leavitt in The Andromeda Strain (1971). She had a recurring role as Aunt Lil on TV's Dallas. Ink transfer on image. Corners slightly worn. Crease on left margin. Toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
