Inscribed printed photograph signed in ink: "To Dick/All the very
best--/The Gaylords/Burt" "Ronnie" in black felt tip. B/w, 5x7 with printed
caption in lower margin. The Gaylords were an American trio formed with
Ronnie Gaylord (born Ronald L. Fredianelli, 1930-2004), Burt
Holiday (born Bonaldo Bonaldi) and Don Rea in Detroit, Michigan in
the early 1950s. With Rea's departure, the group became a duo known as
Gaylord and Holiday. Their biggest hit, "Tell Me You're Mine" (1953)
peaked at No. 3 on the US charts. Other notable songs are "From the Vine
Came the Grape" (1954, originally written by Leonard Whitcup), "Isle of Capri"
(1954) and "Who's Gonna Take You to the Prom" (1956). Since Gaylord's passing in
2004, Holiday continues to perform with Ron Gaylord Jr., Ronnie's eldest son.
