THE GAYLORDS: RONNIE GAYLORD, BURT HOLIDAY
The Gaylords's Ronnie Gaylord and Burt Holiday inscribe this publicity photo (5x7) to a fan. Extremely rare signatures!
Inscribed printed photograph signed in ink: "To Dick/All the very best--/The Gaylords/Burt" "Ronnie" in black felt tip. B/w, 5x7 with printed caption in lower margin. The Gaylords were an American trio formed with Ronnie Gaylord (born Ronald L. Fredianelli, 1930-2004), Burt Holiday (born Bonaldo Bonaldi) and Don Rea in Detroit, Michigan in the early 1950s. With Rea's departure, the group became a duo known as Gaylord and Holiday. Their biggest hit, "Tell Me You're Mine" (1953) peaked at No. 3 on the US charts. Other notable songs are "From the Vine Came the Grape" (1954, originally written by Leonard Whitcup), "Isle of Capri" (1954) and "Who's Gonna Take You to the Prom" (1956). Since Gaylord's passing in 2004, Holiday continues to perform with Ron Gaylord Jr., Ronnie's eldest son. Creased at edges and corners. Otherwise, fine condition.
