all 7 signers.Playbill for a production of The Heiress at New York's Cort Theatre, signed on
the front cover. This represented the fourth production of The Heiress, a play by Ruth and
Arthur Goetz first performed in 1947. The production offered here ran for 340 performances
from March to December, 1995. It won a Tony for Best Revival of a Play, and Cherry
Jones won a Tony and a Drama Desk Award for Best Actress. Frances Sternhagen
won a Tony as Best Featured Actress. Besides her Tony here, CHERRY JONES (b.
1956) won another a decade later for Doubt (2005), and she has been nominated for
Tonys in the same category for Our Country's Good (1991) and a revival of A Moon for the
Misbegotten (2000). Jones, who made her film debut in 1987, has been seen on the big screen
in such features as The Horse Whisperer (1998), Cradle Will Rock (1999), Erin Brockovich
(2000), The Perfect Storm (2000), Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002), Signs
(2002), The Village (2004) and Ocean's Twelve (2004). She has also starred in number of
made-for-TV movies (since 1986), was a regular on Loving (1992) and has made guest
appearances on a number of TV series and talk shows. FRANCES STERNHAGEN
(1930-2023) won Tonys as Best Featured Actress for The Good Doctor (1974) and The
Heiress (1995), and five additional Tony nominations, most recently for Morning's at
Seven (2002). Like many stage actresses, she has found roles in several daytime TV dramas
(Love of Life, One Life to Live, The Secret Storm). She has made recurring guest appearances
on such popular series as Cheers (as Esther Clavin, 1985-1993), ER (as Millicent Carter,
1997-2003) and Sex and the City (as Bunny, 2000-2002). English actor DONALD
MOFFAT (b. 1930) he appeared in over 100 films and television series between 1956 and
2005, and audiences may remember him as the U.S. President in Clear and Present Danger
(1994) or National League baseball president Ford Frick in *61 (2001). Along with his screen
credits, Moffat has performed in over 15 productions on Broadway and was nominated twice
for the 1967 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play (The Wild Duck, 1967. Right You
Are If You Think You Are, 1967.) Other notable screen credits include Gunsmoke (1974),
Logan's Run (1977-1978), Dallas (1982-1983), The Twilight Zone (1985), Babe Ruth (1991),
Bull (2000) and The West Wing (2003). PATRICIA CONOLLY, born in 1930 in what is
now Tanzania, has appeared in 30 Broadway plays over nearly half a century, from 1947
(You Can't Take It With You) to 2009 (Is He Dead?). Her roles have included Stella in a
revival of A Streetcar Named Desire (1973). Conolly seems to favor classic revivals, have
appeared in many works by Ibsen, Chekhov, Sheridan and Moliere. KARL KENZLER (b.
1968) was making his Broadway debut in The Heiress. He has since appeared in four more
plays there, including classics like Dinner at Eight and Twelve Angry Men. He stepped into the
role of George Banks in a revival of Mary Poppins in 2010. MICHAEL CUMPSTY (b.
1968), active on Broadway since 1989, was a replacement actor in The Heiress, but would
soon move up to starring roles in Copenhagen, 42nd Street, Enchanted April, Democracy, The
Constant Wife and Sunday in the Park with George. JENN THOMPSON (b. 1967), who
understudied two roles in The Heiress, made her Broadway debut in Annie and has since
appeared in Ah, Wilderness (1998). She is part of an acting family, the daughter of two
Broadway performers (Evan Thompson and Joan Shepard) and the spouse of another (Stephen
Kunken). Fine condition.
