B/w, 8x10. The Lettermen are a close-harmony pop trio formed in 1958. After successful runs in Las Vegas and Miami, The Lettermen signed with Capitol Records. Their popularity peaked in the 1960s, when they ran off a string of hits including "The Way You Look Tonight", "When I Fall in Love" (their #1 single, 1962), "Theme From a Summer Place", "Goin' Out of My Head", "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You", "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" and "Hurt So Bad". Altogether, The Lettermen have scored sixteen Top Ten singles, eleven Gold records, five Grammy nominations, and 32 consecutive Billboard Magazine charting albums. TONY BUTALA (b. 1938) has led the group since its founding, the only original member left. Prior to his vocal career, Butala had several small roles in films, including White Christmas (1954) and The War of the Worlds (1953). Tenor BOBBY POYNTON (b. 1957) performed with the group from 1990 to 1995, and rejoined in 2011, teaming with third member DONOVAN TEA (ca. 1955). Corners slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
