THE LITTLE HUT MOVIE CAST: AVA GARDNER and STEWART GRANGER
The co-stars sign this color publicity photograph from their movie The Little Hut (1957)
Photograph signed: "Ava/Gardner" in silver ink and "Stewart Granger" in black ink, color, 10x8. Movie still from the film The Little Hut, ©1957, Loew's Inc. The Little Hut tells the story of three people stranded on a desert island; Granger is a businessman who is too busy to pay attention to his wife, played by Gardner, and David Niven (who did not sign) is the couple's best friend, who secretly longs for Gardner. Stunningly beautiful Ava Gardner (1922-1990) earned an Oscar nomination for Mogambo (1953). Among the other notable movies in which she had starring roles are the following: The Barefoot Contessa (1954), Bhowani Junction (1956), and Night of the Iguana (1964). She could also carry a tune, as she did in Showboat (1951) and other musicals. Gardner was married three times: first to Mickey Rooney, and then to Artie Shaw. Her last husband was Frank Sinatra, whom she divorced in 1957. In the '40s STEWART GRANGER (1913-1993) was one of British films' two top romantic leading men and a steady box-office draw, attracting the interest of Hollywood. He signed with MGM in 1950, and for the next seven years played a variety of virile "he-man" types such as romantic swashbucklers and hunters. Staple holes at lower and upper margins. Lightly worn. Adequate contrast of Stewart Granger's signature at lower right corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
