1959 LOS ANGELES DODGERS Seventeen members of the team signed this ball Baseball Signed:"Walt Alston" in the sweet spot, "Sandy Koufax", "Don Drysdale', "Gil Hodges", "Pete Reiser", "Johnny Podres", "Wally Moon", "Larry Sherry", "Roger Craig"," Joe Pignatano", "Norm Larker", "Johnny Roseboro", "Danny McDevitt", "Charlie Neal", "Stan Williams" and "Chuck Essegian". There is one unidentified signer. Interscholastic league baseball. This Dodger team finished the season in thrilling fashion, sweeping arch-rival San Francisco in a road series to knock the Giants out of first place, tying the Braves for first place and then defeating them in a special playoff, and finally whipping the White Sox in a 5-game World Series. The 1959 season was only the Dodgers' second year on the West Coast, so this ball spans two great eras. Signers like HODGES (1924-1972), REISER (1919-1981) and PODRES (1932-2008), as well as manager ALSTON (1911-1984), were key members of some great Dodger teams in Brooklyn. The ball's logo has been inked out. Browned and nicked in spots, but signatures remain legible. Otherwise, fine condition.
