THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. TV CAST Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin shown in this 14½x11 lobby card Lobby Card Signed: "Robert/Vaughn" and "David McCallum". Color, 14½x11 overall, image 13x10 (one surface). © 1964 MGM. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. ran on NBC from 1964-1968. ROBERT VAUGHN (1932-2016) played Napoleon Solo and DAVID McCALLUM (b. 1933) was Illya Kuryakin. Inspired by the James Bond stories, the series, with permission from Bond's creator, Ian Fleming, used the name of a Bond character as a main TV character. "Napoleon Solo" was an underworld chieftain who had been killed off in Goldfinger, but in the TV series he was a secret agent who, with his partner Illya Kuryakin, battled the evil forces of THRUSH. U.N.C.L.E. was the United Network Command for Law Enforcement, an international crime-fighting organization. Fine condition.
