CHRISTINE McGUIRE
The McGuire sister writes to a fan on behalf of the group, adding "We are always delighted to hear from our fans in the hope that we have brought a little pleasure into your life with our music"
Typed Letter signed: "Christine McGuire", in blue ink, 1 page, 8½x11. Las Vegas, Nevada, no date. On letterhead of the McGuire Sisters and written to "Dear Chuck", in full: "Thank you for your recent fequest for an autographed photo of the three of us. We are always delighted to hear from our fans in the hope that we have brought a little pleasure into your life with our music. -MAY YOU ALWAYS WALK IN SUNSHINE- "Sincerely" THE MCGUIRE SISTERS" The McGuire sisters were immensely popular in the pre-rock 1950s, regulars on the Arthur Godfrey TV and radio programs who scored top hits with "Sincerely" (1955) and "Sugartime" (1958). Somewhat belying the group's wholesome image, Phyllis was the girlfriend of mob boss Sam Giancana in the 1960s. After many years of inactivity, the sisters reunited for the first of many Las Vegas show performances in 1985. Christine McGuire (b. 1926) and the group were inducted in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. Slightly creased. Binding holes at right edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
