THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION
Tribute photo to rock icon Frank Zappa, including the signatures of Don Preston, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Ike Willis, Terry Bozzio, Tom Fowler, Eddie Jobson, Howard Kaylan and Dweezil Zappa
Photograph signed: "Dweezil Zappa," and co-signed: "Howard Kaylan," "Terry Bozzio," "Napoleon [Murphy Brock]," "Tom Fowler," "Ike Willis," and "Eddie Jobson." Color, 8x10. This is a classic photo of the legendary rock musician Frank Zappa (1960-1993) who formed The Mothers of Invention in 1964. Famous for their out-of -the-box sound and outlandish live shows, the Mothers of Invention pioneered experimental rock in the sixties and seventies, creating new genres of protopunk, psychedelic jazz, and fusion music. They recorded over a dozen albums, including Freak Out! (1966), Absolutely Free (1967), and Weasels Ripped My Flesh (1970). Over fifteen years, the band went through 32 different members, including Napoleon Murphy Brock (b.1945), Terry Bozzio (b.1950), Don Preston (b.1932), Howard Kaylan (b.1947) and Tom Fowler (b.1951). Musician Ike Willis (b.1951) was on Zappa's record label and frequently toured with the band. Eddie Jobson (b.1955), British keyboardist and violinist, also toured with The Mothers of Invention, playing with the band during the late seventies. Dweezil Zappa (b.1969) is the son of the Frank Zappa. The Mothers of Invention is considered one of the greatest groups in rock history. Fine condition.
