B/w, 10x8. The Munsters, a popular TV sitcom spoofing classic horror themes, aired on CBS from 1964-1966. FRED GWYNNE (1926-1993) starred as Herman Munster in The Munsters. He also portrayed New York City Police Officer Francis Muldoon in the sitcom Car 54, Where Are You? from 1961-1963. However, Gwynne preferred acting on Broadway and in films; he appeared as Big Daddy in Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and in the movie My Cousin Vinny (1992), in which he played the judge shortly before his death from pancreatic cancer. Canadian actress YVONNE De CARLO (1922-2007) played Lily Munster in The Munsters and its film spin-offs through 1996. De Carlo made her feature film debut in 1942, and was usually cast in period films, Westerns, as well as a few comedies. Her credits include This Gun for Hire (1942), Salome, Where She Danced (1945), Song of Scheherazade (1947), Black Bart (1948), The Ten Commandments (1956) and McClintock! (1963). AL LEWIS (1910-2006) is best remembered for two TV sitcom roles: that of Grandpa Munster, and Officer Schnauzer in another hit TV sitcom, Car 54, Where Are You? (1960-1963). Moreover, he made many TV guest appearances and was seen in a number of films in supporting roles. Lewis had a busy life outside of acting; he earned a PhD from Columbia University, worked as a teacher, performed in the circus, and even owned a restaurant. Fine condition. Framed in the Gallery of History style: 16x21¾. Authenticated by Al Wittnebert.
