THE NANNY: FRAN DRESCHER and RENÉE TAYLOR
The star of the hit TV comedy and her screen mother sign a script.
Script signed in ink on a photocopy: "Thank you/[drawn heart]/Fran Drescher", "Love/Renée/Taylor", 46p, 8½x11. Script of Show #602, "Fran Gets Shushed", written by Caryn Lucas, directed by Peter Mark Jacobson. Stage Draft, 1998 September 4. Signed on front cover. Bound with brads at left edge. Photocopied ink notations (unknown hand) on cover. Multitalented actress, comedienne and writer FRAN DRESCHER is best known for her starring role as Fran Fine on the TV sitcom, The Nanny (1993-1999). Not only did Drescher star in the Emmy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated role, but she also co-created the sitcom (with then-husband Peter March Jacobson), wrote and produced it. Drescher, who had attended high school with popular TV comic Ray Romano, had made her film debut in 1977 in Saturday Night Fever. Since then, she has appeared in several feature films and made-for-TV movies, guest starred on several TV shows and is a frequent guest on talk shows. Known for her trademark nasal voice, Drescher published her autobiography, Enter Whining, in 1996. RENÉE TAYLOR, who played Frans mom on The Nanny, also played the part of a mother on two other TV series: Daddy Dearest and Dream On. Taylor was a regular guest comedian on Jack Paar's late-night TV show (1959-1962). She won an Emmy for script writing (shared with husband Joseph Bologna). Her other roles include that of Hitler mistress Eva Braun in Mel Brooks' The Producers (1968). Fine condition.
