This ball is signed by Hall of Famer and three-time American League MVP YOGI BERRA, 1963 AL MVP ELSTON HOWARD, 1957 Rookie of the Year TONY KUBEK and All-Stars BILL SKOWRON, BOBBY RICHARDSON, LUIS ARROYO, DALE LONG, JIM COATES, BOB CERV and JOE DeMAESTRI, as well as JACK REED, who was with the Yankees from 1961 to 1963. The New York Yankees went 97-57 in the 1960 regular season and won the American League pennant, but lost the World Series to the Pittsburgh Pirates in seven games. That World Series is of course remembered for Bill Mazeroksi's series-clinching home run in the ninth inning of Game 7. The Pirates' championship was especially unexpected because the Yanks dominated them during the series. They outscored the champs 55-27 (including a 12-0 shutout in Game 6) and outhit them 91-60, but just couldn't get the job done. Mickey Mantle later said that the 1960 Fall Classic was the greatest disappointment of his career. The Yanks made it to the postseason four times after 1960, with two World Series wins in 1961 and 1962, before their famous decade-long dry spell of 1965 to 1975. Lightly toned. Heavily stained and soiled. Some signatures are faded, beaded and have low contrast but are legible. Otherwise in fine condition. Previously authenticated by JSA.
