Photograph signed: "Joe DiMaggio" and "Frank Crosetti". B/w, 10x8 overall, image 9x6½ (one surface). Shown with five other Yankee hitters, including Lou Gehrig. JOSEPH PAUL DIMAGGIO (1914-1999) played centerfield for the New York Yankees from 1936-1942 and 1946-1951 with a lifetime batting average of .325. The Hall of Famer (inducted in 1955), who was elected to the All-Star team every year, was American League batting champion in 1939 and 1940 and home run leader in 1948. DiMaggio also holds the major league consecutive game-hitting streak of 56 (1941); called baseball's greatest feat by many. He was Most Valuable Player in 1939, 1941 and 1947. FRANK CROSETTI (1911-2002) wore the Yankee pinstripes for a record 37 consecutive seasons as a player and a coach. Purchased by the Yankees in 1930, he played shortstop for 17 seasons beginning in 1932. Crosetti, who had a .245 batting average (with 98 home runs and 649 RBIs) and was an All Star in 1936 and 1939, was a member of nine Yankee AL championship teams and played on eight World Series Champion teams. He was Yankee third base coach for 20 seasons, during which the team played in 15 additional World Series championship games. Fine condition.
