ART DITMAR (born in 1929), an American League pitcher for 9 seasons, was on the familiar Kansas City - New York shuttle of the era, gaining experience with the Kansas City A's, then being traded to the Yankees, and returning to the A's when his best years were over. With the Yankees he was fourth and then third in the AL in earned run average (1959-1960), and went 15-9 in 1960. He pitched for the Yankees in three World Series (1957, 1958 and 1960). HECTOR LOPEZ spent 12 seasons in the American League (1955-1966), the first 4½ with the Kansas City A's and the rest with the New York Yankees. He appeared for the Yankees in five consecutive World Series (1959-1964). Surprisingly, however, his best seasons at the plate were in an Athletics uniform. The versatile Lopez played seven different field positions in his Major League career, everything except pitcher and catcher. Pitcher BOBBY SHANTZ, the first pitcher to win a Gold Glove, won the honor for the first four years it was awarded (1957-1960). Shantz, who played for the Philadelphia (1949-1954) and Kansas City (1955-1956) Athletics, the New York Yankees (1957-1960), the Pittsburgh Pirates (1961), the Houston Astros (1962), the St. Louis Cardinals (1962-1964) and the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies (1964), was also an All-Star in 1951, 1952 and 1957 and AL Most Valuable Player in 1952. He is the brother of catcher Billy Shantz, who played with Bobby for the A's in 1954-1955 and in one game for the Yankees in 1960. FRANK TEPEDINO played first base for the New York Yankees (1967, 1969-1970, 1971, 1972). He playedin the Major Leagues for eight seasonsand ended his career with a batting average of .241 and a fielding percentage of .984. BILLY BRYAN was signed by the Kansas City Athletics in 1960 and played 8 seasons in the Majors with the Athletics (1961-1966) New York Yankees (1966-1967) and Washington Senators (1968). A catcher, he played in 374 games and ended his career with a batting average of .216 and a fielding percentage of .984. Fine condition.
