The actor and actress each played a lead in the short lived Broadway production which ran for twelve performances from Oct 7, 1977 until Oct 22, 1977. Stage, screen and television actor Max Von Sydow, born Carl Adolf Von Sydow in Sweden in 1929, made his film debut in 1949 and has since starred in a number of foreign and U.S. (from 1965) films. His credits include Wild Strawberries (1957), The Seventh Seal (1957), The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), Hawaii (1966), Made in Sweden (1969), The Exorcist (1973), Steppenwolf (1974), Three Days of the Condor (1975), Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977), Flash Gordon (1980), Conan the Barbarian (1982), Never Say Never Again (1983), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), Awakenings (1990), What Dreams May Come (1998), Snow Falling on Cedars (1999), Minority Report (2002) and Heidi (2005). Von Sydow has also appeared in several made-for-TV movies, including The Diary of Anne Frank (1967), and miniseries, such as Quo Vadis? (1985) and Christopher Columbus (1985). Andersson (1935-2019) was a Swedish stage, movie and TV actress who appeared in many of director Ignmar Bergman's films. Andersson was an actress with the Royal Theatre of Stockholm when Bergman discovered her when she was 17. Andersson already had a few movie appearances to her credit before Bergman tested her in a TV commercial, then gave her a small role in Smiles of a Summer Night (1955). She went on to play breezy roles that lightened heavy Bergman fare like The Seventh Seal (1957) and Wild Strawberries (1957) before getting her first important dramatic role, as the neurotic, unwed mother-to-be Hjördis Petterson in Bergman's Brink of Life (1958), which earned her a Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Her American films, including Duel at Diablo (1966), I Never Promised You a Rose Garden (1977) and Airport 79: The Concorde (1979). Left edge lightly frayed. Otherwise, fine condition.
