DONNY OSMOND, ALAN OSMOND, JAY OSMOND and RICARDO MONTALBAN. Signatures: "Jay Osmond", "Alan Osmond", "Donny Osmond" and, on verso: "Ricardo Montalban", 5¾x4½ album leaf. The Osmond Brothers, ALAN (born 1949), WAYNE (born 1951), MERRILL (born 1953) and JAY (born 1955) first sang professionally in 1962 at Disneyland, where they were taped for a segment of Disneyland After Dark. Later in 1962, they first appeared on The Andy Williams Show, where they were frequent performers from 1962 to 1971. DONNY (born 1957) made his debut on the show on December 10, 1963, a day after his sixth birthday, while MARIE (born 1959) was first introduced as a three-year-old (sitting on Williams' lap). Marie later joined the group, necessitating a name change from The Osmond Brothers to The Osmonds. Both Donny and Marie would go on to successful solo careers as well as performing (including their own variety show and talk show) and recording as a duo. Donny, who became a teen heartthrob, had hits with "Puppy Love", "The Twelfth of Never" and "A Million to One". Between January 24, 1971 and November 6, 1978, the family had 23 gold records: five LPs and three singles by The Osmonds; four LPs and five singles by Donny; a single by Marie; and four LPs and one single by Donny and Marie. In 1992, The Osmond Brothers (minus Donny, plus brother JIMMY, born in 1963) shifted their focus to country music, and found instant success, being named Billboard's top new singles group that year. They have since been named Group of the Year in Branson, Missouri, where they own, operate and perform at the Osmond Family Theatre. Not only do the original members of the Osmond family continue to enjoy success (Donny's latest album, Somewhere in Time, was a huge hit in the UK and did well in the U.S.), but their legacy also lives on -- Alan's eight sons now perform as The Osmonds - Second Generation. RICARDO MONTALBAN, born in 1920 in Mexico City, is perhaps best known for his role as the suave, mysterious Mr. Roarke on TV's Fantasy Island (1978-1984). Montalban, who played romantic leads in feature films in the 1940s and 1950s, starred in his first "Latin lover" role opposite Cyd Charisse in Fiesta (1947). His other film credits include On An Island With You (1948), Sayonara (1959), The Singing Nun (1966), Sweet Charity (1969), two Planet of the Apes films (1971, 1972), The Train Robbers (1973), Won Ton Ton, The Dog Who Saved Hollywood (1976), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (reprising his role on the TV series) and two Spy Kids films (2002, 2003). Montalban also appeared in a number of made-for-television movies as well as on Bonanza and Mission: Impossible in addition to Star Trek. In 1976, he won an Emmy for his portrayal of a Sioux chief in How The West Was Won. Lightly creased. Ink smudges touch "Osmond" of Donny's signature. Pin hole at blank area above Jay's signature. Ink note (unknown hand) at lower right margin of front page. Show through of ink at Montalban's signature. Stray ink smudges on his page. Overall, fine condition.
