THE OSMONDS. Photograph inscribed and signed: "Jimmy", "Jay/Osmond", "Wayne Osmond", "Merrill Osmond" and "Alan". Inscribed: "To/Lara". Color, 8x10. Publicity photo, "The Osmond Brothers" printed at lower margin. This photo was taken after 1992, when The Osmond Brothers (minus Donny, plus Jimmy) shifted their focus to country music and found instant success, being named Billboard's top new singles group that year. They have since been named Group of the Year in Branson, Missouri, where they own, operate and perform at the Osmond Family Theatre. The Osmond Brothers, ALAN (born 1949), WAYNE (born 1951), MERRILL (born 1953) and JAY (born 1955) first sang professionally in 1962 at Disneyland, where they were taped for a segment of Disneyland After Dark. Later in 1962, they first appeared on The Andy Williams Show, where they were frequent performers from 1962 to 1971. DONNY (born 1957) made his debut on the show on December 10, 1963, a day after his sixth birthday. JIMMY (born in 1963) later joined the group, and his debut LP and single, Long Haired Lover from Liverpool, charted on the Top 40 in 1972 and made him a huge success in Japan, where the plump nine-year-old was known as "Jimmy Boy". Between January 24, 1971 and November 6, 1978, The Osmonds had eight gold records: five LPs and three singles. Not only do the original members of the Osmond family continue to enjoy success, but their legacy also lives on -- Alan's eight sons now perform as The Osmonds - Second Generation. Slight haloing. Otherwise, fine condition.
