Partly Printed DS: "Mel Schoppman" as Player and by the Malpaso Company's casting director. 1 page, 8½x6. Oct. 13, 1975. Headed: "Employment of Day Player". Contract for Schoppman to appear as "Granpa's (sic) Brother" at a daily rate of $172.50. The Malpaso Company, now Malpaso Productions, is Clint Eastwood's production company and has produced many of his films since 1968. THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, released in 1976 and based on Forrest Carter's book Gone to Texas, was Eastwood's fifth film as a director and eighth as a star in Westerns. The story of the title character's journey west after the Civil War, the film, Eastwood's last Western until 1985's Pale Rider, also starred Sondra Locke, Chief Dan George and Bill McKinney. MELSCHOPPMAN was one of the extras in the film. Lightly soiled and creased. Staple holes and light tear at top edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
