Day player employment contract signed by Tim Rios, one of the extras in Clint
Eastwood's 1976 movie The Outlaw Josey Wales
One day movie contract signed "Tim Rios" as Player in black ink
and by the Malpaso Company's casting director in blue ink. Black ink notations
in unknown hand. 2 pages, 8½x6, 1 sheet front and verso. November of 1975.
Headed: "Employment of Day Player". Contract for Rios to appear as "Union
Officer" at a daily rate of $172.50. The Malpaso Company, now Malpaso
Productions, is Clint Eastwood's production company and has produced many of his
films since 1968. THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, released in 1976 and
based on Forrest Carter's book Gone to Texas, was Eastwood's fifth
film as a director and eighth as a star in Westerns. The story of the title
character's journey west after the Civil War, the film, Eastwood's last
Western until 1985's Pale Rider, also starred Sondra Locke, Chief Dan
George and Bill McKinney. RIOS was one of the extras in the film. Lightly
soiled and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
